100 Women who care - 8th Meeting

Have you heard of the local Victoria group 100 Women ? Well its about time you should! On Wednesday night I had the privilege of being invited to come to their 8th meeting to photograph the event. I had heard of 100 Women through one of the founders Denise Grant, and was excited by the opportunity to come and see what its all about.

100 Women is an organisation that was founded 2 years ago. The idea behind this group was to have 100 Women who care about charity come together every 3 months and to nominate charities to go into a draw to win a cheque which is compiled of a $100 donation from every member.

Every meeting 3 charities are pulled out of a basket and a representative for each charity does a short speech on how they would benefit from the money.

At the end, all of the members cast a vote and the charity with the most amount of votes wins the cheque! The great thing about this organisation is there are now over 250 women who care members, meaning these local charities walk away with over $25,000! How amazing is that? I was truly inspired by what these women have been doing the last few years and hearing about all the great charities they have helped over such a short time.

This meeting the lucky winner of the $25,000 cheque went to The ArtsREACH society. A fantastic organisation which works towards helping children who may not have access to arts education be able to attend workshops that encourage them to learn critical life skills through the arts and expression. It was a fantastic night hosted by Uptown

Thank You to 100 Women for having me.
